WDA Cancellations Policy

This document is provided solely as guidance to our customers. In matters of legal interpretation, everything stated in this document is superseded by the ‘WDA Training Service Terms and Conditions’ found at https://thewebdesign.academy/terms/.

1.Cancelling Seats on Public Courses

1.1.Refunds on public course bookings

In normal circumstances, customers who provide 10 or more working days notice of cancellation will be entitled to full refund of payments made for that particular course.

Customers who provide between 9 and 5 working days notice of cancellation will be entitled to a 50% refund.

Customers who provide less than 5 working days notice of cancellation are not entitled to any refund.

WDA may, entirely at its own discretion, provide partial refunds of less than 50% to customers providing less than 5 working days notice of cancellation.

1.2.Transfer of public course bookings

As an alternative to cancellation, customers with bookings on publicly scheduled courses may choose to transfer their booking to another instance of the same course or to a different WDA course.

In normal circumstance, customers who provide at least 10 working days notice of their wish to transfer to another public WDA course of equal or lower value, will incur no extra costs for making the transfer.

Customers who provide 10 working days notice of their wish to transfer to another WDA course of higher value, will be asked to cover the difference between the value of the two courses.

Customers who notify us of their wish to transfer with less than 10 working days notice, may be asked to pay an additional fee to cover losses made by WDA on the initial booking, or to cover any difference between the value of the seat(s) they initially booked and the value of the seat(s) to which they wish to transfer.

Such excess charges will only ever exceed 50% of the original booking value, if the value of seats on the course to which they are transferring exceeds 150% of the transferred booking.

WDA may, at own its discretion, waive any charges for transfers.

2.Cancelling Private Courses

2.1.Refunds on private course cancellations

In normal circumstances, customers who provide 10 or more working days notice of cancellation will be entitled to full refund of payments made for that particular course.

Customers who provide between 9 and 5 working days notice of cancellation will be entitled to a 50% refund.

Customers who provide less than 5 working days notice of cancellation are not entitled to any refund.

Circumstances will not be considered normal, when the contract to supply training has required WDA to incur course delivery costs which cannot be recouped, even with 10 or more days notice of cancellation. For example, where the terms of the contract require us to pay for travel, accommodation, facilities or equipment, for which WDA cannot itself obtain a refund.

In such cases, such costs will be deducted from the refund that would apply in normal circumstances.

WDA may, entirely at its own discretion, provide partial refunds of less than 50% to customers providing less than 5 working days notice of cancellation.

2.2.Transferring Private Course Dates or Locations

As an alternative to cancellation, customers with private bookings may choose to transfer their booking to another date or location.

Private course customers will only be charged for transfers when WDA has incurred unrecoverable costs on the original date or will incur additional costs for arranging the transfer itself, e.g. if the new date(s) and/or location(s) are more expensive than the original arrangement.

Transfer charges will rarely exceed the material cost to WDA of cancelling the original date and arranging its replacement.
