The standard rates for a private on-site training course are as follows:
Convenience Discounts — on Private Training Courses
We can offer substantial discounts on our normal fees, if you can arrange a private course to our convenience, e.g.
- During a gap in a trainer's schedule
- In a place that the trainer can access cheaply
- By paying the full fee — or a deposit — in advance
Obviously, the actual discount will depend on the degree of convenience and cost saving involved, but:
- 20% discounts are common
- 60% discounts are possible — in exceptionally favourable circumstances
Group Sizes — on Private Training Courses
- There is no minimum group size
- The normal maximum group size is 8 students
The maximum size can usually be extended to 10 — where facilities and course content allow — but there will be charge of £150 + VAT per extra delegate over the 8.
In exceptional circumstances, the maximum group size may be further extended — on courses with limited requirements for teacher-student interactivity, or for hands-on exercises.
All-inclusive vs. Costs-plus Pricing
When we quote, prices are typically all-inclusive — because that is usually more convenient and transparent for everyone concerned.
We will, however, quote for jobs on the basis of tuition costs plus expenses, if you prefer. The expenses are, however, likely to be greater than the charge for them which is included in the all-inclusive price.
Expenses for on-site training — at the client's premises — will usually only cover any travel, accommodation and subsistence costs incurred by the tutor.
Occasionally further, at-cost, expenses may be passed on to the client — e.g. the cost of hosting the course at an off-site venue, or the cost of supplying equipment that the client does not have available on-site.
See the expenses page for all the gory details.
